The OM13506 is an evaluation/demo board designed to evaluate and promote the PCF8553DTT LCD driver. Able to drive up to 160 segments in a configuration 40 segments x 4 backplanes, the PCF8553DTT is housed in the TSSOP56 package and it is optimized for low-voltage (minimum supply voltage 1.8 V), low-power (about 5 uA in mux 1:4 and all display elements enabled) and low-cost.

The OM13506 includes a custom circuit that allows measuring the current consumption on VDD and VLCD pins.

    The OM13506 is provided with a Graphical User interface (GUI) with the following features:

    • Real-time current consumption measurement on VDD and VLCD pins
    • Display layout available on the GUI allowing to switch ON/OFF each segments by single clicks
    • Graphical PCF8553DTT register map available
    • Source code (C language) generation based on the register map configuration
    • Plug and Play support. No connection button is needed, the software recognize the demo board and it establish the connection automatically
